the issues covered in the case in light of the information that you
learned in Chapters 3 and 4. Next, read through the questions at
the end of the case -- This will get you thinking about the various
issues. Lastly, answer the following question in your initial
post:
Does Mindy have the right idea? Why or why

the problems at hand at Seaside Convalescent Care Center.
Does Mindy have the right idea? Why or why not?
Mindy has the right idea because that was her first job after college and she thought by her behavior, she would be able to turn the things in her favor but that was impossible in Seaside Convalescent Care Center. The center has been running like that messy way for years. Mindy was right in thinking that the reason for 100% turnover was the lack of motivation among the nurses so she planned to give them training, try to maintain a healthy relationship with the nurses, give them more responsibility to make them accountable, try to develop an interactive environment e.t.c. But the employees were too much indisciplined and only works for money and during the tourist season, they leave their job and go to attend the tourists to earn more money. The nurses do not have any ethics and attitude to serve the people. All of Mindy's hard work go in vain. The main problem here is not that of Mindy's idea but her tactics were not better to deal with such interdisciplinary staff. They should rightly be rectified by harsh authoritarian treatment. Mindy's idea was good but not good for those unethical and indisciplined staff.
Explain what should be done to handle the problems at hand at Seaside Convalescent Care Center.
The problems at hand at Seaside Convalescent Care Center can be solved by the following steps-
1. The center should immediately expel the most stubborn and undisciplined staff. They should try to identify those staff, who did not want to listen and act according to their wish.
2. They should make a new recruitment policy and hire only those individuals, who are well trained and has an attitude to serve.
3. They should induce a bond system of at least two years to retain the employees. The employees will not be able to leave before two years.
4. The center should increase the salary to motivate the employees to stay and not to leave in the tourist season.
5. The center should organize a meeting with its staff to know the reason behind the 100% turnover.
6.They should induce a training program for those, who are totally untrained and also continously monitor their improvement.
