A leader is the one who has the ability to motivate and influence others. Leaders influence the people across the organization irrespective of verticals and horizontals which has a great impact on driving the business in a positive way.

Motivation or Influence is not something that is developed instantly, It takes time to develop and is a continuous process. Leaders put their efforts to motivate the employees continuously.

Now we will discuss the power and Influence in leadership.

There are three kinds of Influential leadership

1. Transformational Leadership: This is driven by the change in people across the organization, These leaders have the ability to change the way that we look at various products and they can market the innovative products into the market easily. Transactional skills are mandatory for all the leaders are they involve exchange of information between leaders and followers. Leaders should always be in a position to listen to the employee, As lower-level employees may have many great ideas but that cannot be implemented. These leaders also encourage followers to go behind their interests and area of study. They also encourage them to continue their passion. These leaders should also encourage followers by awarding them with prizes and rewards.
2. Charismatic Leadership: Charisma meaning a fire that ignites followers. These leaders have the capacity and skills to influence a large number of followers emotionally. They will have good communication skills and will be able to influence the followers. Followers get attached to the leaders emotionally and this can be used to drive a positive change or Negative change from them. Leaders can use these followers for good causes or bad causes that completely depends on the leader.
3. Coalitional Leader: These leaders interact with followers across the organization. They also speak with various people and gather a lot of information they do the math before taking any steps to add value to the organization.

There was an employee who was working in an MNC, He was working with very effective leader. Due to the new clients who joined the organization. The number of tasks that he needs to complete on a daily basis increased. This made his performance go down and ended up in the Performance Improvement Plan list. Then this leader guided him to get goals accomplished on time and also he got trained on various skills that are required in the current world.Hence we could say that this leader was effective in upskilling employee and motivated him to get best out of him.
