Kemar is a swimmer who has begun complaining of pain and feelings mimicking shoulder dislocations when practising his freestyle stroke in training. He complains of discomfort with overhead tasks that worsens as he maintains the position. His coach has recommended that he see the team physician, however he is convinced that his problem is solely due to new patterns in his movement.
In freestyle stroe swimming whne your hand enter the water in
line with the shoulder glides forward the water. shoulder rotates
downward during down sweep continuous downward and backward
pressure in the hand and forearm make the shoulder rorate forward.
the shoulder should be back during freestyle stroke and when the
arm move formards for 90degree forward in a flexed position. mucle
inlvoed in freestyle stroke shoulder movement inlcude large muscles
groups like trapezipus, Quadricpes, harmstring, biceps, triceps,
deltoid, rotator cuff and various core muscles.
a, Glenohumeral subluxation is a partial or incomplete dislocation
that occurs from changes in the integrity of the joint. Humeral
head slips out of the glenoid cavity that weakens the rotator cuff.
Arm movement with poor flexibility and rotate of the shoulder
causes dislocation. joint capsule stretches cause
subluxation.
b, It causes shoulder instability, loss of movement, shoulder
injury, nerve damage if it is untreated. shoulder joint with arm
bone connection of humorous and glenoid dislocation cause
completely pull the bone out of the socket that causes instability
result with recurring subluxation.injury to circumflex axillary
nerve cause weakness of deltoid muscles and restrict movement in
the shoulder.
c, Physical therapy, and athlete training service assist patients
for the rehabilitation of shoulder injury. gentle traction of the
arm and sling for several weeks immobilize the shoulder. physical
therapy increases the shoulder flexibility and restores the range
of motion, it strengths the shoulder muscles and prevents future
shoulder dislocation. rehabilitation exercise strengthens the
muscles, the trace can be used to prevent a recurrence.
