Goal: Primary treatment in septic tanks involve the use of natural gravity to remove the suspended particles from the water apart from this floatable material known as scum is also removed in this method.

How it’s achieved: This can be achieved by the settling which is assisted by gravity and the anaerobic bacteria remove it from the waste apart from this the scum is removed periodically by trained experts.

Secondary treatment:

Goal: The removal of remaining microorganisms and other chemical nutrients like phosphorus and nitrogen is removed from the effluent.

How it’s achieved: Various techniques like biofiltration system and anaerobic treatment system to remove the remaining chemical and microorganisms and then from these secondary treatment unit the waste goes to the disposal area.
