what is child development and why is it so important to understand developmental periods to best serve your students
The child development is defined as the course of mental,
physical and emotional changes occuring in a child from the time of
birth to adolescence.
The child development includes physical, social, interactive,
psychological, ethical, linguistic, intellectual and cognitive
aspects.
It is very important for a teacher to understand the process of
child development. Understanding the child development period helps
teacher in better bonding and connecting with his students. This
provides a sense of comfort and security among the students.
Understanding child development enables teachers to help student
learn better, conduct properly and manage different situations with
more patience and skillfully.
Academically it will help teachers to construct and curate syllabus
according to child's need. It will also help teachers to develop
new creative and interactive methods of teaching to which children
can bond with easily and makes the learning process fun and
interesting.
Learning about child development will also help teachers to detect
behavioural issues in some students and better ways to deal with
them.
