Health care workers need to function within the legal scope of practice for the state in which they are employed .It provided a guidelines for what to do and what not to do.

Legal scope of practice describes the procedures, actions, and processes that a healthcare practitioner is permitted to do in response to their  professional license.

The scope of practice is limited to that which the law allows for specific education and experience, and specific demonstrated competency for each and every professionals .

Each jurisdiction has laws, licensing bodies, and regulations that describe requirements for education and training, and define scope of practice.

If health care workers are working according to this guidelines, they can be protected by the law in case of some mistakes or accidents.

If someone practiced out of the legal scope of practice ,that is against to the disciplinary action and can lead to revocation of working or licence may be cancelled.

Negligence can be an activity out of legal scope of practice in the health care area .
