Submit 2017 annual reports for Apple and Microsoft accompanied with a student created Porter Competitive Landscape Diagram and Fuchs, et al Alignment Diagram specific for each company. Using the Porter Competitive Landscape Diagram five block layout, visually portray the competitive landscape for Apple as a figure and label the figure for a specific market. Include individual names of the competitor in the center marketplace block and names of other key players (i.e. competitors, suppliers, new entrants, substitute technologies, buyers) within each of the other Diagram blocks. Include arrows with labels, but do NOT discuss rivalry, threats or powers in the diagram. For the corresponding Fuchs et al Alignment Diagram for Apple, label the diagram and figuratively highlight positional and execution components with specific key markets segments, flagship products, and hallmarks execution capabilities of the corporation to accentuate their unique competitive edge. Create similar Competitiveness and Alignment Diagrams for Microsoft.
Porter Competitive Landscape Diagram For Apple
If you see the present market of Apple and their competitor , there is a threat always for new competition entrance specially through China. Close competitiors are Samsung, Xiaomi, Huwai, Motorola and Nokia. However Apple has always been a rivalry with competitor. in terms of IOS technology Apple has seprate space in market as apple is not based out of Android. This can me a special reason which gives a power for supplier and buyers.
However Apple themself has threat for sustitute as they keep on launching their new model it create threat for their existing model. quick example i can quote here is Apple X which became competitor for Apple 8/7.
Similary for Microsoft again it has been a monopoly in terms of Windows operating sytem however new entrant threats are always there like ubunto, Unix,Dos and Ios of Apple has been a close competitior however USP of Microsoft which is a User Freindly tag always help to create power for supplier and buyers. But again being a technology company you need to keep on upgrading your technology so in the same series Microsoft has launced Windows Vista,7,10 and it all become a substitute competitor for each product.
