Which of the main approaches to health care do you prefer? Using act utilitarianism as a supporting reason.
The different approaches to Healthcare are,
1. Conventional medicine- provided by someone who has degree in their allied health professions at medical doctor (MD), doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO), nurse (RN), psychiatrist, psychologist, to name a few.
2. Alternative medicine- non mainstream practice used instead of conventional medicine. Interestingly, NIH states that over 30% of adult and 12% of children use alternative Health care approaches developed outside the Western medicine.
3. Complementary medicine - practices and products of non mainstream origin and may be used as the same time as traditional prescribed therapies. complementary approaches can be categorised into natural products and mind-body practices.
4. Integrative medicine - combining conventional and complementary approaches to a coordinated unintentional way of maximum benefit and symptom relief.
Among these categories of approaches of Health care, I do prefer integrative medicine as the best practice. Because integrative medicine is a compining conventional and complementary approaches to a coordinated and international way . In that, integrative approaches currently used including programs to promote health behaviours, improve pain management with veterans and relieve of symptoms for cancer survivors.for example a person going through cancer treatments may also be encouraged to enroll in mindfulness classes to help ease the symptoms caused by the treatments. According to the National Health institute, more and more researches on exploring ways to integrative Healthcare approaches can be used to maximize benefit to patients. Integrative medicine is healing oriented rather than disease focused, it promotes combination of mind body and spirit to regain body's natural equilibrium to achieve health. In integrative medicine, a holistic medical disappearing which takes into account, the lifestyle habit of a patient. The physician worksto treat the whole person rather than just the disease. The mind body and soul of a patient are taken into consideration to promote healing and wellbeing. For example, Therapirs like acupuncture, yoga, meditation, guided imagery are increasingly integrated into today's conventional treatment of health disease, cancer, and other serious illness,- and scientific evidence supports this approach to health and healing.
integrative medicine plays an important role in improving Health care in that it uses the best of all modalities to achieve wellness and health that is safe, effective, patient-centered, equitable, efficient and accessible.
