Facebook recently acquired CTRL_Labs in September 2019, and the reason behind the acquisition is the Mind reading wristband made by CTRL_Labs because the wristband will be instrumental in developing new ways of interacting with machines as the wristband transmits brain signals to computer, and this interaction with machines without traditional mouse and keyboard setups, and Facebook wants to grow in the AR and VR technology and want to change the way we connect.

The Facebook app is monetized via various ways, which also includes the major income from the advertisement parts, where many companies are looking for marketing of their products they need a platform where they can advertise about, and facebook is the most used platform by over a billion users, and people use facebook for digital marketing and facebook gets a major chunk of its money from these advertisements.
