Currently there is a debate about marginalisation of women in Africa.

i. Identify and discuss FIVE (5) factors that accountsfor this marginalisation in a patriarchal society like Ghana.  ​

ii. Propose FIVE (5) practical ways for addressing this imbalance in Ghana.

i) Marginalization of women in a patriarchal society means to push women  to the edge of the society and to not allow them a place in the society.Factors that account for such marginalization arei) discrimination of women and inequality of women in the ghanian society,ii)gender inequality in household work,sexual and reproductive rights and decision making in political spheres,iii) no educational background,iv)inequality in socio economic and occupational backgrounds in rural and urban areas,v)lagging behind their male counterparts in all spheres of life like political, sexual, decision making etc.

ii)Five practical ways to address this imbalance is to i)give Ghanian women constitutional rights to enjoy equal opportunities like the males,ii)Focus on sending girls to school and giving vocational trining to older women,iii)removing legal restrictions to formal employment of women,iv)providing equal property and ownership of asset rights to men and women,v)providing legal protection for women in getting parental leave, unemployment benefits, social security etc.
