The mean waiting time at the drive-through of a fast-food restaurant from the time an order is placed to the time the order is received is 84.3 seconds. A manager devises a new drive-through system that he believes will decrease wait time. He collected a sample of 10 and got a mean of 71.52 seconds and a sample standard deviation of 27.16. Conduct a hypothesis test at α=0.01 to test the manager's claim. State the hypotheses, test statistics, critical value, decision + conclusion.
Following the previous problem. Calculate the 99% confidence interval for the population mean waiting time of the new system. (round to 2 decimal places)
Conclusion: There is no evidence that new drive-through system decreased wait time.
