During the last decade the bottled water industry has experienced tremendous growth. As with other products, there is large number of brands, ranging from generic to high-profile. Suppose that you would like to compare the average "purity" of three different brands. To do this you randomly sample bottles from each of the three brands and have them tested to impurities. Suppose the following coded data are obtained [the higher the number the more impurities].Conduct the appropriate test to see if there is a difference in the average level of impurities for the three brands. If there is a difference, explain what you think it is. [8 points]
ANSWER::
Using one-way anova we solve this problem.Data analysis toolpack of Excel
Hypothesis:
Ho:There is no difference in average level of impurities for the three brands
Vs
H1:There is difference in average level of impurities for the three brands
Open Excel => Enter data => Data option => Data Analysis => Anova:single factor => input range =>output range => ok
here p-value < alpha=0.05 then we reject Ho and conclude that There is difference in average level of impurities for the three brands.
Here data is sampled from three brands and tested for impurities from this we conclude that the three brands are have different impurities.
