To tackle the traffic problem in the city of Houston, people have
adopted the newly revamped bus commuting system. As far as 2016, a
1000 buses were added to the city circuit and new plans were
developed in order to make the system more rigid to changes in
timings of the buses with a focus on increasing their
frequency.
The availability of a frequently moving transportation option that
connects people living in highly populated areas of the suburbs
with the different job centres has decreased the load on the roads
of Houston. People prefer to use the public transportation system
rather than driving their own cars to their workplace and getting
stuck in traffic for hours. It also provides a very feasible option
to the people in terms of the costs that are incurred monthly on
fuel to commute to and from their respective offices.
Especially people who fall into the middle and lower class families
have benefitted deeply from this revised transportation system as
the ownership of vehicles remains a luxury for them. Such a plan to
reorganize the way people travel is not possible without the
support and participation of the citizens of Houston
city.
