Discuss, compare and contrast.
There are two widely held views regarding strong trade unionism. The first is that strong representation is essential to safeguard workers’ rights, to ensure an acceptable standard of living, and that it forces businesses to identify other more creative means of improving efficiency (e.g. profit sharing) to the benefit of both the employer and employee. The second is that strong trade unionism is potentially disruptive and may lead to an increase in workers’ upheavals (e.g. wildcat strikes) an increase in short-term contracts offered by employers, and act as a disincentive to foreign investment.

VIEWS REGARDING STRONG TRADE UNIONISM
1. THE GOOD SIDE: The first one says that the strong representation is essential to safeguard workers rights, exactly this is very right as when there is unity in large number of people it becomes very difficult to go against the complete group. Here if there is strong trade unionism then it would be very difficult to go against the workers which will ultimately benefit the employees and also help workers to safeguard their rights.
2. THE BAD SIDE: The second one says that the strong unionism may become disruptive at times as if a single worker is bothered, the entire community does the strike and fight back which leads to the disruption and loss of workers itself.
