How did changing the efferent radius affect glomerular pressure, GFR, and urine volume
1. Changing the radius of efferent arteriole affects the glomerular pressure, glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and urine volume.
2. When the radius of the efferent arteriole decreases, the glomerular pressure and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) both increases thereby the urine volume also increases.
When the efferent radius decreases, the blood cannot flow out of the glomerulus. This resistance in its flow and the accumulation will increase the capillary hydrostatic pressure and thereby glomerular pressure,GFR and urine volume increases.
3. When the radius of the efferent arteriole increases, the glomerular pressure and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) both decreases thereby the urine volume also decreases.
When the efferent radius increases, the blood flows easily out of the glomerulus and this will decrease capillary hydrostatic pressure and thereby glomerular pressure, GFR and urine volume decreases.
