Political stability is most important characteristic of a modern state. It implies a stable political system & stable government. In a politically stable country, people work together towards the enhancement of economic development. Leaders of other nations are able to frame their policies towards the nation on the basis of its political stability. After 47 years of membership UK left European Union. The 2016 referendum created a mandate for UK to withdraw its membership from European Union. Because of Brexit, UK is moving towards an uncertain future. After Brexit, politics has changed in UK. At one point of time UK was considered most politically stable country in the world but now political system in UK is unpredictable & consfusing. After Brexit, there is no clear path on which UK political system will proceed, UK has no codified constitution set down in a single document which contains supreme set of rules that will help to govern the country. The present government in UK seems to be weak. At present UK has various combinations of laws, practices & conventions that have developed & will continue to develop overtime. It seems that UK is going through a period of political instability. There has been a major impact of UK decision to leave European Union on the country's politics & society. Despite the current political instability, the UK economy is doing well.
