This essay discusses about the serious consequences of taking too many college courses, along with the possible reasons for doing so.
Students who want to further excel in their life, take up a college course after formal schooling education. They choose a course which matches their career aspirations, goals and expectations. Sometimes, this is chosen by themselves, other times, it is decided by the adults in the student's life.
College course gives the students necessary skills and knowledge for the specific field. Sometimes their aspirations are too many or sometimes the adults push them to take up many courses to utilize their learning phase or it is their requirement for the plans they have in mind. They end up taking multiple classes or courses, which requires close to 16 hours of each day.
Humans as a capacity or nature, can focus or pay attention on something only for fixed amount of time. After that, the attention decreases and their learning and performance diminishes. They may be physically present but mentally absent. They will not be able to serve the purpose of taking up the course, ending up flunking it. Apart from that, it may be taxing for their physical and mental health leaving them exhausted, tired all the time. They will find no time to carry on with other daily life activities and also any homework activities or projects given as part of the course. Their health may take a toll totally overshadowing any benefits of the courses.
In short, it is never advisable to take multiple courses at a time, as the costs overtake the benefits and is totally not worth it.
