I personally opposed to his thought totally in today's business environment. His above mentioned thought is totally outdated now in a competitive environment.
Now a day, not only companies are facing competition in searching , getting and retaining customers rather they are also facing very stiff competition in finding and retaining best Human resources that is employees . So, with having that kind of thoughts , skilled , educated , experienced personnel would not attracted to work for the company for a long time. As a prospective employee I would never want to join such an organization where such kind of practice is already established.
Yes, customers are playing is gigantic role in economy , but customers are only attracted and retained by Employees by providing desired goods and services according to their specifications and after sales service .Without loyal, skilled and technically sound employees does consumers get satisfied? If frequent job retrenchment is a common measure of neutralizing every misfortune and problems, it may have an apparently invisible black hole in near future.
In modern time ( In the era of globalization ) where there is free movements of human resources are allowed in almost every nooks and corners of the world , skilled employees may have their own choices in their hand , but having this kind of thoughts companies unfortunately are creating a negative impact on the business . It creates a huge job turn over ratio, which is not at all economically and socially desirable .
Now, in modern world I should mention ,giant corporations are using a revolutionary thought that is ' Employees First , and Customers Second' written by Vineet Nayar ( CEO of HCL technologies ) because what the today the company is that is for it's employees and where it will be in tomorrow that will also because of the employees. Employees make customers , Customers come second , employees are always first .
