Jazz age: The term 'jazz age' originated from the jazz music. It is the age of liberty, hedonistic, dance, revelry and enjoyment. The age started from 1920 and extended roughly to 1930. With the influence from the jazz music, there was rapid social change in the society of the United States and gradually such change spread in the other regions of the world. It was also the period of great economic prosperity as well as social prosperity.

The Roaring Twenties: The Roaring Twenties refers to the years after 1920. There was great social change. Women liberation was a matter of great importance. In the whole world people became more conscious about their right and existence. The roaeing twenties was more significant for the revolutionary change in dress and manners of the ordinary people. The economic prosperity also appeared throughout the whole world.

The Great Depression: The age of Great Depression was started after 1930. It was the age of great economic decline throughout the whole age. The people greatly suffered from many problems. It originated in United States and gradually spread in the whole world. The world wide GDP was less than 1 percent. Unemployment, poverty, social inequality and social unrest spread the whole world. To the poor countries it had devastating effect.

The age of intolerance: The age of intolerance started after 1920s and it was the age of great unrest and social chaos. The age of intolerance is marked for the discrimination and racism. It was the age of great oppression towards the minorities and black people. In this period the past events of racism and discrimination was encouraged. It happened due to the advancement of communism and ararchism. The Red Scarce (nation wide fear) appeared in many states. People lost their security.
