10. I live in Malaysia’s northern part in the Kedah region. The five core values for this area of Malaysia are:

1. Humility – People in Malaysia, especially in its northern area appreciate other people who display traits of humility. People often prefer to elect those politicians who are humble and attached to their roots. Humility is expected both in personal as well as professional conduct.

2. Perseverance – Another core value prominent in the northern part of Malaysia is perseverance. Malaysian citizens do not give up easily and even during troubled times are keen to go on with their tasks and jobs despite the difficulties being encountered by them.

3. Culture of excellence – The northern part of Malaysia focuses on excellence. Excellence is pursued not only in complex tasks but also in daily tasks and routine and daily tasks. Excellence is a way of life in this part.

4. Acceptance – People in northern part of Malaysia strongly believe in acceptance as one their primary values. Acceptance means to embrace different things positively. Acceptance is a step ahead of tolerance and this value ensures that people are progressive as well as live in harmony.

5. Loyalty – Lastly the fifth core value that is prevalent in northern part of Malaysia is loyalty. People are loyal to their families and friends, to their employers and to their work and business partners. Thus there is a high level of trust in the society.
