Pathogenesis of paraneoplastic
syndrome.
The pathogenesis of paraneoplastic syndromes is complex and
intriguing. When a tumour arises, the body may produce antibodies
to fight it by binding to and destroying tumour cells. When these
antibodies cross-react with normal tissues or cell and destroy
them, which may result in a paraneoplastic syndrome.
Manifestations of paraneoplastic
syndrome.
There are many Manifestations of paraneoplastic syndrome which
includes difficulty walking and maintaining balance, loss of muscle
coordination or muscle tone or weakness, loss of fine motor skills
such as picking up objects, difficulty in swallowing, slurred
speech or stuttering, memory loss and other thinking (cognitive)
impairment, vision problems, sleep disturbances, seizures,
hallucinations, unusual involuntary movements, sensory loss in the
limbs, and vertigo or dizziness
