What were some main events in the post-Civil War Era that might enable us to draw a straight line to the Progressive Era?

Who was included in this vision of Progressivism and who was left out? Why?

Well, one cause during the civil war which led to progressive era is tariff schedule . In this American manufacturer can charge what ever the price they want for their product and american consumer was forced to pay that much amount to buy .This led to progressive era and one of the event which led to progressive era. And also during the civil war inflation was on the peek, and people were furious of because of it . Congress did not do anything for the citizen as it was busy in generating revenue . Sk this led to fire in society a d because of this the progressive era started.

The people who wanted change society, protecting social welfare, creating new economic reform, movement to protect workers , single rule for everyone .These people were included who wanted change in society. And not those who said everything is okay and fine currently . And they were left out because they think what government is doing right and we don't want change .Their thinking was like government as they did not want change in the society so they were left out.
