Federal Trade Commission:

It is a central government agency that was created with an Intention to protect consumers from unfair trade practices is known as federal trade commission. This agency is formed in the year 1914 with broad and deep legal powers protect the consumers and to encourage the anticompetitive trade practices in the market. Current mission is to prevent business practices which they think as harmful, deceptive or bad for customers or anti-competitive and also to enhance consumer information about the business. They try to avoid unnecessary burden to legitimate business in the process.

1. Consumer side to make consumer well-informed and to prevent unfair, deceptive business

2. Market side to prevent anti-competitive mergers or other types which prevents competition

3. Good performance a proper method through organizational, individual, and management excellence.

Consumer protection in Federal Trade Commission:

The following are the major ways in which the consumers are protected against anticompetitive, unfair trade or business activities.

It creates policies and programs to create awareness among consumers to know the ways and means to protect them against the fraudulent activities in the market.

Federal agency conducts Investigation to identify the companies which violate the laws and sue the company for the unfair trade activities.

The agency educates the consumers and the executives about their rights and responsibilities toward the society. It activities this by propagating anticompetitive business practices to eradicate malpractice in business.
