“Improving Occupational Safety and Health in Construction”
Construction sector is consists of a hazardous land-based job according to nature of activities involve at the worksites. It is an important economic driver of the country and is increesing exponantially developing and undeveloped countries over the past few years. Due to sudden increase of this sector occupational fatalities is also is increasing rapidly. The most common fatalities are being struck by an object, being caught in between two objects,electrocutions, falling down from height. The fatalities is due to hazardous task like working in height, power tools, welding work ,excavation etc. Occupational fatalities involves individuals who die during on work at the work site or while performing his job rerlated task. Hence it is important the construction site must be follow all the required safety measures.It mainly includes cutting tree roots from work area, marking of water pipelines ,gas and electric lines, leveling the grounds of work area,filling the holes etc.
The individuals or workers need to be well trained or awared with all safety measures , tools and equipments before working, it will surely assists prevention in injuries , permanent disablement cases and deaths on the site. The training of individuals includes safety in their daily verbal exchanges with workers to reduce work-related accidents. This paper is about to focus on the various safety and health related issues arrises in the individuals or workers involves in construction activities throughout the construction stages and how their problem being resolved and managed.
