Solution: The Camshaft Sensor works according to the Hall principle .It scans a ring gear on the camshaft.The rotation of the ring gear changes the Hall Voltage of the Hall IC in the sensor head. This change in voltage is transmitted to the control unit and evaluated there in order to establish the required data.
Crankshaft Sensor: If we look at the crankshaft , we will find a power full magnet next to it.This magnet constantly radiates a magnetic field that is steady . As the engine starts and the crankshaft spins the steel pins around the shaft roatate around this field. This Cause fluctuation in the field , thus producing an AC signal . This further signals the engine management unit to decipher the speed of rotation. In turn , the EMU is able to calculate the position and the pace of the camshaft to further optimize fuel injection and ignition.
Determination of failing camshaft position sensor:
* Vehicle does not drive like it used to.If your vehicle idles roughly , stalls frequently , has a drop in engine power, strumbles frequently, has reduced gas mileage, or, accelaration slowly- these are all signs of camshaft position sensor could be failing .
* Check Engine Light Comes on
* Vehicle will not start.
Determination of failing crankshaft position sensor:
*Issues Starting the vehicle . The most common sysmtomps associated with a bad or failing crankshaft position sensor is difficulty starting the vehicle.
* Intermittent stalling
* Check Engine Light comes on.
