BREAST FEEDING-

Breast feeding is very beneficial for not the newborn.It is also beneficial for the mother & Society also.Breast feeding is considered as the best feed for the newborn.

There are some terms which are closely related in the stage of breastfeeding. They are discussed below-

1. Growth of the breast is called Mammogenesis
2. For secretion of the milk the functional change of the breast is called Lactogenesis.
3. The phase on which ejection of milk occour,is called Galactokinesis..
4. Maintaining of milk production is termed as Galactopoiesis..

Breast milk contains so many vitamins and minerals which are essential for the growth, development of the newborn.. They are-

Vitamin A,C,E,D,B1,B2,B6,B12 etc.
Apart from Niacin,Calcium,phosphorus,sodium,
magnesium,potassium, Folic acid,Iron,zinc are also present in the breastmilk.

Reflex related to the breast feeding-

Reflexes of the mother-

prolactin reflex (It is milk secretion reflex)
Oxytocin Reflex ( It is Milk ejection reflex)

Reflexes of the baby-

Sucking Reflex
Swallowing Reflex
Rooting Reflex

Benefits of Breastfeeding -

For baby-

1. Breast milk contains all types of vitamins & minerals which are essential for the growth & development of the newborn upto 6 months of age..
2. Breast milk contains poly unsaturated fat which are essential for myelination of the central nervous system..

For mother-

1.Exclusive breast feeding reduce the chace of anemia to the mother
2.Breastfeeded mother have the less chance to develop Breast & Ovarian cancer.

For Society-

1. Breastfeeding helps to reduce the money cost for the newborn feeding..
2. It conserves energy.

Frequently Burping is needed to the the baby who is breastfeeded to prevent chocking..

Problems during breast feeding -

1. Engorged breast
2.Breast Abscess
3. Sore nipple etc.

Contradication of breast feeding -

1.HIV Infected mother
2. Mother who is undergoing to anticancer & Radioactive Drug therapy..

Incarceration-

Incarceration is a act for prisoners..it is the act for keeping the person in jail..
