Discuss gender similarities and differences in terms of physical, cognitive, and social factors. How different are males and females? Why does the gender difference controversy continue?

This has been a topic of debate, that if men or women have been different fundamentally or if they are similar. There has been a common assumption that females as well as males are different profoundly. There have been gender stereotypes that females would commonly be tender and males would commonly be tough.

Gender differences have been identified or studied through three domains. These are psychological domains, social variables as well as variables of personality. Gender differences have seen to be particularly high when seen in the social perspective as well as the personality front. Though, in case of psychological well being, the gender differences are very small.

There would be global differences between the females and the males, though these global differences are small.

The magnitude of gender differences would be more evident on the physical aspect. Physically women have been perceived to be more frail as compared to the males. Also, they have been known to be getting tired or lacking strength. Also, the difference on the physical front has been considered to be more prominent.

The gender difference controversy continues because women no longer want to be considered as lacking strength. In fact, they compete as athletes, as strength trainers etc.this debate continues as men want to keep up their dominance and women do not want to be perceived as being weak.
