Provide a comparison and contrast between dialogue and discussion. Which can be used in strategic conversation? Use examples to demonstrate your understanding.
answer-
Dialogue can be said a Conversation happening between two or more persons in any setting like school, office etc. On the other hand, Discussion can be a talking which involves arguments, comment and informal debate so that people in discussion can reach to a decision or outcome.
When there is dialogue then decision is not the part of conversation but in case of Discussion, There has to be a decision.
The ideas flow freely in dialouge while in Discussions, Ideas or opinions can be hindered or shot down by other participants in the discussion..
The word dialogue is also used for conversations as a feature of a book, play, etc. In most novels, we find small dialogues that break the monotony of prose writing. This is a technique used by writers to keep the reader interested.
Discussion in literary works refers to examining something. For instance, when we say the writer engages in a discussion of social stratification, we are highlighting the fact that the writer is introducing various points of view to examine a certain topic.
In strategic coversations, Discussion is the best option because strategic coversations involve tactics, plans etc which requires decisions to be made so Discussions happen between parties. they brainstorm ideas and give thier opinions with facts to prove thier side.
for example- There is strategic conversation related to choose the best medium to promote a product. in this discussion will help because Parties will argue and present their ideas. they will brainstorm and talk about pros and cons of thier options then come to decision like use of TV commercial is best while other will say that use of social media is best to promote. Then final decision will be social media based on facts and benefits of this platform.
