Addition and subtraction of octal numbers is carried out by same principle as that of decimal. In decimal we take carry 1 when number is more than 10 and 2 when number is more than 20 and so on.. similarly in base 8 we take carry 1 when number is more than 8 and carry 2 when number is more than 16 and so on...and process is same for all base
