"What does Russell say is the meaning of ‘existence’? What do propositional functions and the theory of descriptions have to do with this?"
** Requires the book of Metaphysics An Antology from Jaegwon Kim and Ernest Sosa from Blackwell publishing**. One page please, will rate, thank you!**
Russell meaning of existence defines theory of descriptions and propositional functions in life. There are indefinite and definite descriptions which can describe a person like for example a man is an example of a indefinite description whereas an example of tallest man in a room is an example of definite expression. Existence of certain objects can be in the form of imagination like a unicorn which is fictitious and does not have real existence. For example a sentence like King of France is spoilt cannot be convincing or true as it relates to Gray's elegy or Frege's theory. There are various Russell denoting phrases like propositions and propositional functions. In these there a variables which are assigned a function like N is human with or without values. If many values are there and are not defined to a variable then it is called as propositional function wheras if the values are defined then they are called as propositions. The values may be true or false. There are indefinite and definite descriptions. Metaphysics involves the study of concepts and logical reasons for problems in mathematics with designing of hypothesis and theories for example Leibnitz theory. It is called as principle of indiscernibility of identicals and the principle of identity of indiscernibles.
