Should the management of volunteers require the application of management principles different from those used in managing paid employees?
The basic principles of management
remains universal, irrespective of its application in various
fields such as Defense, Politics, Medicine, Educational system,
Corporate world like in the Financial and Marketing firms, HR firms
etc. While the management principles remain the same, the
application shall differ from case to case basis without
compromising on its basics.
In this regard, whether managing the volunteers of non-profit organizations or managing the paid employees, the concept of management shall not change. Management principles are not on the basis of earning profits. Rather earning profits or achieving of certain objectives through a team or an organization, could be on the basis of realization of such principles.
Hence, it should certainly be same for the management of volunteers as well as to manage the paid employees since these principles are universal and all-pervasive.
