Women's involvement in physical activity and sports was often limited due to medical rhetoric that associated women's reproductive systems with weakness and fragility. What are some examples of this found in this week's lecture and reading. What impact does this history of medical/reproductive barriers still have on girls and women today? These early held beliefs about human reproduction still influences our language today - "that person has balls" versus "that person is a pussy" has opposite meanings where the male reproductive system is associated with strength while the female reproductive system is associated with weakness. Are there other examples of how this thinking impacts our lives perhaps without us realizing it until now?
INTRODUCTION
Women's involvement in sports and games always seems less in our society were men are pushed to get involved in sports and games, it is always a myth that sports and tough physical activity can damage the reproductive system of women and that will not good for her future and development. Many other examples are available in our society which shows stops females to go out and strengthen themselves in the field of sports. Like when we see the development of a child in mostly family we can see that difference which is done in boys and girls, in most of the family girls are more pampered than boys and they send to do household stuff more than outdoor work and vice versa for boys, this development process and treatment in home also play a very important role which we generally neglect but that make an identity for an individual and decide the roles in society.
Another example we promote very less female sportsperson in the world of media than men if we see statics than we will find that in comparison to female we know more men as an ambassador and symbols of sports this also indirectly impact our society to not to promote more females in sports. Media and our society play a very important role as we make ideal mostly from there and if we not find an ideal image than we avoid to choose that path and that is only happening in the world of sports for girls.
