Strengths and weaknesses of the Affordable Care Act for undocumented immigrants

Solutions

Expert Solution

One of the major issues in United States is the unaccounted immigrants who have come to the US for their livelihood due to the hard political and economic conditions of their own countries. When the ACA was introduced, it promised to cover the unaccounted immigrants but the truth is far from it. It has not only failed to cover them but also failed to bring the employers who employ these immigrants under hard conditions without any insurance.

The benefit of including the unaccounted immigrants in ACA is that they would be able to get treatment for diseases that would otherwise spread. Secondly, managing the unaccounted immigrants will be brought to the account during the treatment thus deciding whether to keep them or deporting them. Finally, it would also ensure that the American Society is more humanitarian.
The disadvantages would be that the government might need to spend more money in the budget and that might land a deficit. It would encourage the illegal employers and illegal immigrants to enter into the US because they know that they would be protected. Finally, it would treat people who contribute to the nation with their taxes and those who are not equally which would be unjust.
