Ginter, P. M., Duncan, J. W., & Swayne, L. E. (2013). The strategic management of healthcare organizations (7th ed.). San Francisco, CA: Jossey-Bass.
The two potential barriers that may cause strategic implementation to fail is poor leadership skills and partial commitment of the staff.Leaders who are insecure and weak in their own position are ineffective and cannot help in any way.Sometimes the wrong persons are alloted in big positions like managers, who lack skills of managing things or creativity skills. The right individuals should be placed in a right position inorder to advocate and champion the strategic plan and keep the company ontrack.A leader who cannot lead and cannot approach persons and staff ,who cannot collect suggestion from employees cannot create any effective strategic implementation and planning.Similarly with commitment of all the staff including higher positions like CEO and managing directors ,they should fully understand what is happening in the organisation rather than just handing over the company to the related personnels. They should be fully committed by communicating with the staff time to time and improve their enterprises.
Strategic implementation is more imporatant than the strategic planning as the implementation itself involves turning strategic& plans into actions. Many organisations dont link strategy with budgets which is one of the main causes for unsuccessful companies.Strategic implementation is one of the real actions that take place in management process where the strategic plan is transformed into actions and actual performances. It is the stage where it demands the participation of the entire organisation where the senior management and key employees get involved.
