America always treated itself as the protector of democracy and individual rights while it was not able to fight the injustice, inequality and discrimination within its own country. It waged wars on other countries in the name of protecting democracy, while it was not able to protect the rights of the minority in its own territories. It was only an excuse for America to advance its political gains and economic growth. The gulf wars were part of its plan to control the gulf region to fulfil its oil needs and establish a strong military base in the gulf region in order to threaten small countries in the region. The decision to go for war was only selfish and it was the Americans at home who suffered inflation, increased tax and unemployment. Thus, it aligns with the fifth theme but for a different reason: for the reason that the U.S. wanted more power in the oil producing region and hid this motivation.
