Authentic self means:

Being your true authentic self means what you say in life aligns with what your actions are. she goes beyond what you do for a living, what positions you ownWho you are to someone. It is who you are at your deepest core. Tt is about being true to yourself through your thoughts words and actions and having these three areas match each other

Everyone wants to be authentic. You want to be true to yourself not a slavish follower of social expectations. you want to” to live your best life”, pursuing your particular designs rather than falling in line with whatever everyone else thinks happiness requires. Studies have even shown that feelings of authenticity can go hand in hand with numerous psychological and social benefits: higher self esteem, greater well being better ,romantic relationships and enhanced work performance.

But authenticity is a slippery thing. Although most people would define authenticity as acting in accordance with your idiosyncratic set of values and qualities, research has shown that people feel most authentic when they confirm to the particular set of socially approved qualities such as being extroverted, emotionally stable, conscientious, intellectual and agreeable. This is a paradox of authenticity. In order to reap the many of the benefits of failing authenticity you may have to batri your true nature.

Authentic people have considerable self-knowledge and are motivated to learn more about themselves. They are equally interested in understanding their strengths and weaknesses and they are willing to honestly reflect on feedback regardless of whether it is flattering or unflattering.

Most important authentic people behave in line with their unique values and quality even if those idiosyncrasies main conflict with social conventions or other external influences. For example introverted people are being authentic when they are quiet at a dinner party even if social convention dictates that guests should generate conversation. we should expect that people fail most authentically on days where their behaviour closely matches their unique pattern of values and qualities .

Coming to my life I should have not thought of an authentic self when I started to lead my marriage life. For the sake of society I should get adjusted with my partner and for the sake of the child I should live with him with lots of sufferings and pains. I could not come out of that relationship because society wants me with him and I should kill all my happiness and I should sacrifice everything for a tradition and culture. I have left everything and I was just living a life without any satisfaction and I was not seeing any happiness.

If I am asked to live according to my authentic self then definitely I should think about myself and my daughter and I should have left my partner, had come out from him and I should have led a very happy and peaceful life with all my Comforts. I may not have got respect in the society because I am not living with my husband but I should have gained my own self esteem and respect by leading a successful life by doing a respectable job earning money and taking care of my child. all these are also what is authentic self.
