A1. The primary functions of computer technology in a dentist office are:-
administrative functions like setting up an appointment, storing patient's data and medical history, to process payments. This helps in reducing the time required to obtain information from patients as most of the information is readily available from their previous visits.
Clinical functions such as storing what kind of treatment was given to the patient during their previous visits, any follow-up treatment which needs to be taken care of and report about the health of the patient's teeth. This helps in reducing the treatment time as the dentist can avail the available records of the patient's medical history and the treatment already being given.
Special purposes such as designing the molds and prostheses of teeth for the patients to replace their damaged teeth through 3d imaging. This helps in designing the most suitable fit for the patients based on his/her face strucutre.
