Four Dichotomies
What they stand for?
These four dichotomies stand for the ways which we seek choose to function and express our self to the world. Not only that, the four dichotomies in Myers – Briggs is a questionnaire that can indicate the different psychological type of a person. These four dichotomies stand for how we are perceiving our world and making our decisions. Such as
Extraversion and Introversion- Extraversion refers to the outside of us. What we generally express to the world. When we are dealing with the world we are dealing from our extrovert version, In other hand, Introversion refers to inside of our mind. When we are unable to express something to the world that’s something is the introvert part of ourselves.
Sensing and Intuition- Sensing refers to the collected information about something. In other hand, Intuition refers to the abstract possibilities of gathered information. So we can say that, this dichotomies stands for how a person generates her or his beliefs and thinking. Is it based on the sensing or is it based on the intuition.
Thinking and Feeling- When we make a decision we are making the decision from our own thinking and feeling. A thinker always makes decision on the basis of logic, rationality and what they truly belief. In other hand, a feeler always makes his or her decision on the basis of a subjective manner. This dichotomy stands for how an individual takes a decision.
Judging and Perceiving – Judging mentality prefers things to be neat and established. In other hand, Perceiving mentality prefers all the things to be flexible and natural. So we can conclude that, this dichotomy stands for a person’s attitude to see the world.
