You are a manager in a large manufacturing company. The board of
directors has asked
you to find out why there has been a considerable drop in the
number of items produced
in the last financial quarter.
Explain what you will do to find out the cause of the problem and
recommend a solution
to the problem.
at least two ways of gathering
information and one valid approach to
problem solving
Causes for low production-
1. The first cost of low production is multitasking. The
production people are involved in multiple works which causes lack
of focus in production and hence the production gets
affected.
2. The second reason for low production is lack of recognition of
the workers. Providing Employees with the acknowledgement of good
work is one of the easiest management task however it is always
neglected.
Two ways of gathering information in the manufacturing company can
be-
1. Physical walk around and observation for the reason for low
production. Personal observation at the manufacturing areas and
finding the reason for production to be noted.
2. Talking to people about the reason for low production and
finding out ways to increase the production process.
The proper approach to solving the problems will be motivating the
employees and recognizing the best employees in the organisation.
The best employee would be given incentive and recognition. That
would give rise to Healthy competition among the people within the
organisation and the production quantities would go up.
