Create a regimen for studying the material in this class that you believe would be most effective. You must include the types of memory and the anatomy involved.
The reliable form of studying the material in class is by creating a series of short term memory and them converting them into a long term memory.
The best activity shall be chunking.
Chunking is the process that involves breaking down a content or subject matter into several small bits and going through the same in a specific sequence with a few or several memory triggering catchy words or phrases. Some emotions shall also be added to this activity such as a chorus, a collective laughter, bell sounds, watching and clapping at a poster, etc.
The short term memories are stored in hippocampus region of brain.
The long term memory are stored in several regions of hippocampus and cortex region of the brain.
The emotions are stored in amygdala region of the brain.
Thus, when the short term memories are created by chunking, the hippocampus gets activated and when an emotion such as ‘chorus – happiness’ ‘chorus – motivation’ or ‘chorus – inspiration’ is added, the amygdala gets activated too.
Multiple regions assisting in forming a memory shall be easy to recollect and reproduce the same content without loss in information.
The short term memory when repeatedly recollected through an activity shall result in formation of long term memories. The information stored in hippocampus and amydala gets shared to the cortex regions and the memories gets translated into a long term memory.
Thus, through chunking process several lengthy concepts, vague subject contents shall be stored as memory and recollected as well as reproduced efficiently.
