2. Do you have an academic or career-oriented goal? a. Explain your goal and explain why this goal is important to you. Be specific, and describe it in light of your overall goals as a university student. b. Self-assess your own goal. Is this goal realistic? Why or why not?
and How is your progress towards that goal? When the semester is over, do you think you will meet your goal or miss your goal? Or, will you meet it in part and miss it in part?
I believe having a career oriented goal increases the chances of finding and staying in a job that suits an individual perfectly. Therefore, I have a career oriented goal.
(a) The main objective of my goal is to improve my communication skills and build personality before the campus placements starts. I believe that having efficient communication skills build the overall personality of an individual. Having good written and verbal communication skills can help deliver and understand information accurately and quickly. In workplaces, having poor communication skills can deter an employee's growth in the organization and can often lead to misunderstanding and frustration. Moreover, companies often look for candidates with good communication skills and someone with a better personality. Therefore, I believe this goal is a must have for anyone who wishes to do grow faster in his personal and professional life.
(b) Improving communication skills and building personality take time but these areare definitely realistic goals because it is not something an individual can't focus on. Attending relevant workshops help sharpen these skills efficienctly. I personally believe that everyone can improve their personality and their ways of communicating.
In order to achieve my goals, I have been attending relevant workshops regularly that somehow help me move closer to my goals. I often read books and newspapers and I have started participating in events that involve public speaking. And it has helped me tremendously. Therefore, when the semester ends, I believe I will be very closer to achieving my goal and might be able achieve my goal completely by next semester.
