Artificial intelligence provides us with the understanding of creating a learning computer system that can think and make decisions within the constraints of its programs. AI, therefore, represents intelligence artificially created through the use of machine learning algorithms to utilize the processing capabilities of a computer to make decisions that a human would, only much faster. AI is being used in every possible field of computer science, from business information systems, to traffic cameras, ATMs, facial recognition software, and even the face unlock technology in our smartphones are general examples of a broadband usage of AI.

It will be significant since the need to automate processes is always increasing, and the complexity of the systems is far exceeding the human speed of processing. It would not only simplify the operations we use and make it efficient but also revolutionize the way any task is performed by finding the most optimal way to get the necessary results. The best use can already be seen in self-driving cars and the pace with which it is evolving would lead us towards a fully automatable future, especially for businesses to make use of its resources more judicially. It would also be significant in the detection of frauds and other cyber-attacks and therefore provide a safety net against possible forms of attacks that can jeopardize our systems. It will also be revolutionary in the field of medical science, where systems like IBM’s Watson have allowed for precise assistance to surgeons regarding patient history, similarly performed medical procedures, and even in cases where the optimal course of action needs to be determined.
