The mayo clinic is popular American medical center with more than 4000 physicians and scientists focused on education, research and clinical practice. The mayo clinic is a non profitable institution which offers potential degrees to medical students. It is very important to analyze the external factors which affect the clinic to survive in the market.

The external factors can be generally divided into certain categories. They are as follows.

* Remote environment: which includes the condition that affect the business aspects and the impact it has on the industry and the market. The changes occured can have adverse effect on all industries. Some of the factors which affect the remote environment are social, economic, political and technological factors.

* Industry environment: can be focused on customers, suppliers and competitors.Mostly industries makes profit with a perfect market. But there can be a threat of entry of other companies which make more profit.

* Operating environment: This enables to complete the task of all aspects needed to meet the requirements of a firm.

Mayo clinic faces lots of challenges in past few years regarding cultures, and tradition of excellence. They see difficulties with team wor,k maintaining the culture,their efficiencies, employ recruitment, selection, training and development.
