The following are environmental factors that influence our decision(s) about sport involvement:
• Significant others
• Cultural norms and values
• Class
• Race and ethnicity
• Gender and sexuality
• Culture in the global marketplace
• Market behavior of sport firms
discuss at least 4 environmental factors that you feel most influenced your involvement in your favorite sport.
The four factors which I believe that would essentially influence my involvement in the sport are:
1. Gender: The first factor I would believe impacting how would an individual involve in a sport or not would be gender. Although Title IX has played a crucial role in making sports gender neutral, there remains many prevailing cases where the female gender is not allowed playing the same games as compared to the male gender.
2. Significant others: Apart from gender, the influence you get (both the peer pressure in negative or positive way) from your parents, families, friends or people around also make you join a sport or not. Many people join sports because there parents are atheletes or friends etc.
3. Climate and geography: The third factor I would consider would be the climatic and geographical factor. In many place around the world not only US, we can see that the toppgraphy isn'y good enough to promote the activities of sports. Thus, involvement couldn't be meet.
4. Market behaviour: At last, the influence we get from the organisations' advertisements and markets. We idolise people seeing them at television playing any kind of sports like Selena Williams for badminton etc and thus it also influences a behaviour within ourselves to play.
