You are unhappy with your teammate, Jonah. He did not participate in any discussion or contribute to the completion of the assignments. He gives excuses when you attempt to assign tasks to him. Describe how would you initiate and respond to conflict resolution with Jonah. Word limit: 200 words
One of the most important reasons that could be put forth while initiating the conflict resolution is that I would tell him that one cannot accomplish anything on one’s own, thus, group projects and tasks should be contributed by everyone involved. This would mean that it would become a failure of the entire team even if one is not contributing to the cause. This is because of the fact that each member of the group is assigned with a particular part and without one fulfilling the part, one would put all the team members down. Secondly, one should understand the fact that other team members would be able to help them better if they need any help. Unless he opens up and provide details about what’s troubling him, they wouldn’t be able to help them. This would mean that the team wouldn’t be able to understand the troubles of a group member unless the member himself comes forward and opens up. Finally, missing out on his contribution would only lead him not to gain any knowledge for himself and would ultimately fail him. This is because others can share the missing part and complete the process but the one missing is the one who would doesn’t contribute towards the cause.
