To test weather the mode of communication is related to speech perception after the study, correlation hypothesis test is performed for the variables mode of communication and ESP-Post. The hypothesis test is performed in following steps,
Step 1: The hypothesis for the test is defined as,
Step 2: The significance level for the test, is the maximum acceptance level at 5% risk which means null hypothesis will be rejected beyond this level ( such that if P-value is less than 0.05 null hypothesis will be rejected)
Step 3: The correlation coefficient is obtained in excel by following these steps,
1) Write the data valued for two variables Mode of Communication and ESP-Post for both CI and Non-CI group. The screenshot is shown below,
2) The Pearson's correlation coefficient value is obtained using the function =CORREL(). The screenshot is shown below,

hence there is a statistically significant relation between mode of communication and speech perception after the study.
