A software company has two lovations with a total of 27 employees. If four times the number of employees at the larger location is two less than six times the number of employees at the smaller location, how mang employees are at each location.

The smaller location has __ employee(s) and the larger location has __ employee(s)

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer-

The number of employees in two locations = 27

let the larger location has L employees and smaller location has S employees.

L + S = 27 ------------ (1)

Four times the number of employees at the larger location is two less than six times the number of employees at the smaller location

6 x S - 4 x L = 2 ---------- (2)

Solving equations (1) and (2) we get

Multiplying equation (1) by 4 we get

4 X L + 4 x S = 108 --- (3)

Adding equations (2) and (3) we get

10 x S = 110

S = 110 / 10 = 11

Sunbstituting value of S = 11 in equation (1) we get

L + 11 = 27

L = 27 - 11 = 16

Therefore the number of employees in larger location is L = 16 and number of employees in smaller location is S =11.

The smaller location has 11__ employee(s) and the larger location has _16_ employee(s)
