Object A, with a charge of 2 C, and object B, with a charge of -5 C, attract each other with a force of 2 N. If the distance separating them stays the same, what will be the attractive force between them when the charge on object A is reduced to 1C?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Ans : 1 N

Explanation:   Taking initial condition, qA = 2 C, qB = -5 C, k = Nm2/C2

Putting in equation of Coulomb's Law

                                                           m    _________ (1)

      Now, if qA = 1 C , then again applyng Coulomb's Law

                                                                   (Using eqn (1) )

                                                       N (Attractive)

So, the attractive force between the object A and object B will be 1 N.
