Answer: theory of natural selection is given by Charles Darwin in 1859. This is the theory of evolution and natural selection is the principle that explains speciation and adaptations.
Main parts of this theory:
1. Population growth rate is high.
2. Organisms have different reproduction and survival rate.
3. Some traits are inhabited by the offspring from their parents.
4. Every organism have individual variation in appearance and behaviour.
Example of natural selection: Darwin finches, deer mouse, peppered moth and bacteria.
ROLE OF NATURE IN SHAPING : in Nebraska darker mice are dominant but in place where glacier dropped the dark soil is replaced by light soil so the darker mice are more easily captured by the predators. Due to this reason lighter mice have more survival and reproductive rate. Over generations darker mice are replaced by lighter mice. Light colour mice are natural selected.
Bacteria are the good example of studying evolution and natural selection as they grow fast and have variations.
