Discuss the roles that may be played by electronic medical records in improving the delivery of healthcare.

Electronic medical records are the digital format of records maintains in the clinician's office. It contains a detailed history of the patient collected in the medical practice. It stores the patient data for an extended period of time. It helps the physician to identify the client health status. By reviewing the client EMR, the physician can know the person's vaccination status and health recordings.

EMR is designed in a way to provide efficient timely care to the patient. EMR system provides a safe, efficient care to patients. For example, It alerts the physician about the patient allergies and the prescribed medications in the past. EMR software system provides healthcare information to the patient quickly through articles, images, and videos. For example, the clinical summaries and follow-up visits can be sent to the patient within 3 days. With the advanced technology, the patient and the family members can be involved in decisions about treatment options. Moreover, it decreases the errors in drug prescription, diagnostic procedures, and billing services. It has a more financial benefit and saves the time of both physician and the patient.
